I’m not sure why today starts at 5:45, although I’m sure there’s a good reason for it. I just don’t remember what it was. Anyway, I know that there are a few cast members who want to work on the English accents they need for the play. Just like it’s your responsibility to know the definitions and pronunciations of any words that your characters say, it’s also your responsibility to reach out to me about dialect work. I will be available today from the end of school until 545. I am also free, more or less, every day at a, x, f, and on most days, d and e. In other words, any period other than c. Please come visit me. If you can’t find me immediately, text me at (865) 748-3636.

Please know that dialect work will take several sessions, but it will not be painful. If you can bring a recording app, that will probably be helpful also. The earlier the better, and I am happy to help!

WHEN MUST I ATTEND?

At the beginning of the year, we asked everyone to write down their conflicts one more time. We are in the process of reviewing those. Please know that unless you have a conflict in that documentation, you are required to be at any rehearsal to which you are called. This is the requirement for being in the show.

WHEN MAY I LEAVE A REHEARSAL?

Within the posted rehearsal time, the director, choreographer, or music director will dismiss you when they’ve accomplished what they need. If a rehearsal lasts from 4-6:30, and your number is only scheduled to take up part of that, we still need you to keep from making plans until the end of the whole rehearsal. You may be dismissed early within that rehearsal, but please refrain from making plans based on that.

WHEN SHOULD I NOT MAKE PLANS?

Excluding the Thursday addition, which is necessary, these are the times we gave you on the audition form.

Unless it’s on the conflict forms you initially gave us, please keep the following times open:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 4-6:30
Thursday: 6-8
Sunday: 2-5

Thank you, parents and cast for being flexible and supportive – it’s going to be a great show. Leads need to be coming in to see Mrs. Helbig regularly during a free period or AP to run through solos.

The next “club date” Wednesday morning session we will meet in the choir room to run through music – if you have a responsibility to another club, then you need to be at that club meeting, no problem.
