There are few nobler inventions than the pocket knife. It has hundreds of uses. Depending on the situation and the moment, any one of the tools on it may save the day or save your life. The blade may seem like the most important component… until you need the can opener or the screwdriver or the scissors. It just depends on that moment. They are all essential to creating that invention. And it’s not a pocket knife without all of them.
What’s vital to remember is that they are all made of the same steel.
In 25 years at Webb, this is the result of what I think is the most thorough, considered, and discussed casting process I have ever been a part of. I thank everyone for their humor and patience and optimism. Remember that a cast list is one guess at one point in time. This could have gone a dozen different ways and been just as interesting, and I am really grateful to everyone who is involved.

The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can’t do. For instance, you can accept the fact that your father was a pirate and a good man or you can’t. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you’ll have to square with that someday. And me, for example, I can let you drown, but I can’t bring this ship into Tortuga all by me onesies, savvy? So, can you sail under the command of a pirate, or can you not?

Callbacks p1
Some technical problems held up the posting of callbacks, but they are going up in an hour or less.
We are focusing on certain very specific parts today. Just because we are not focusing on callbacks for other parts does NOT mean that we have made up our minds about anything. I suspect that there is a lot we will see today.
I am going over to meet with Mrs Helbig and Mrs Johnson in just a few minutes.

Below, you’ll find a link. But first, here’s a picture of what the link will take you to.
Note the circled part. That’s the only thing in the photo that you need to pay attention to, and those links are the only ones that we need to focus on today. Those are links that will take you to the various sides that we will be looking at. I have numbered them, as you can see above, and I have listed the characters who will be involved in those scenes. Not all of the characters in the show are represented, however, the sensibilities and general acting requirements of all of the characters in the show can be found.
Thanks!

Signups
The sign ups for auditions went up a few days ago. You can find them in the chorus area. There are 15 slots for each day. We really need to fill all of those slots before we add anymore. If those are all filled, then we can certainly add more.
Thanks!
Best,
PMc

Part of what we are looking for is:
1. Do you do research on the songs online?
2. Can you find karaoke accompaniment?
3. Can you demonstrate a good song in less than a minute?
4. Can you do this while avoiding preconceptions based on other performers?
Music T & W in the chorus room at 4-5:30 at the latest. Choose either day. There are limited slots.
Acting for everyone on Thursday. Same times and location. Have a strategy for each role.
